We have been showing students several projects completed by students in the past to give them an idea of what to do. 

Native American Projects Due: 3/2/18

Create an artifact from the Iroquois or Algonquian Tribes.  
Some suggestions but not all are listed below.  These artifacts will
be displayed during our 4th Grade Native American Museum in the
lobby during the month of March.

       Artifact (60 pts): Please use your Social Studies textbook
(Chapter 3) and any notes or worksheets you may have for ideas,
pictures and research.  Pinterest has great ideas too!  
You can also use the internet and the library for additional
information.
 Be creative and use any household or store bought items that
will help you make your project.

Ideas include: (Do not buy pre-made kits to complete your project. Please do not send in early.)

Wampum belt

Birch Bark Canoe

Snow shoes

dream catchers

·        Written essay (40pts): In addition to your artifact,
please write an essay about your project.  Your essay should include:

1.)  The history of your artifact and why it was invented.

2.) Also include how it was used in the Iroquois or Algonquian society.

3.) The essay can be handwritten neatly, typed & printed or
saved to the Google drive by creating in google DOCS.

Artifact and Essay are due by 3/2/18

January 15th - 19th

 Don't forget to log on and complete three days of xtramath. 

We always try to complete one as a class in the computer lab every week!

Week of December 18th - 22nd

No homework this week. Most of the class completed the assignment and persuaded me to give no homework. 

The students that completed the essay to persuade me will receive

 extra Renaissance coupons

 for their efforts and extra time! 

Elf for Hire Persuasive writing DEADLINE: Thursday!

We will be in the computer lab tomorrow afternoon for anyone that has to finish up, but that is the last in school time being allotted for this writing assignment.

There will be a topic 8 math test on Thursday.

Holiday breakfast for students is Friday during class. 

Mrs. Amato has planned it all out. Any questions please feel free to contact one of us. The students will also be switching classes to work on group STEM challenges in the morning.

Wear your favorite holiday shirt/sweater. It could be the ugliest or tackiest if that is what makes you smile. Don't have one? 

Check Pinterest out for a quick do it yourself idea!

Monday: HALF DAY for Students!Topic 7 math test today. It is all about reading carefully to determine whether you estimate or not! RF due signed. Study science notes. Ed puzzle due tomorrow.

Wednesday:Chorus Concert Tonight! Science  Chapter 8 lesson One test: Rotation and Revolution today

Friday: Vocabulary test

Optional: Write or type in google docs a 5 paragraph essay to persuade me not to give any homework next week. But think carefully about how me not giving you homework would benefit both of us ! It is a persuasive piece so persuade me! It should follow format we will talk about again tomorrow, Monday, during writers workshop. (In,troduction with thesis statement, three reasons with examples, that is three middle paragraphs with topic sentences too,and a conclusion that wraps it all up)
